George Zimmerman<\/strong>, 28, the man charged with murder in the second degree for the February 26 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin<\/strong>, has been called many names in the past weeks, but \u201cDatNiggy\u201d wasn\u2019t one of them. Now, The Daily Caller is reporting that Zimmerman\u2019s MySpace name is \u201cDatNiggyTB,\u201d a name allegedly given to him by his \u201cBlack friends,\u201d according to family members.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a family member whose identity The Daily Caller has agreed not to reveal for safety reasons, the \u201cdatniggytb\u201d name is not a racial slur, but a friendly nickname that referred to George himself.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat was an old nickname his black friends gave him,\u201d the Zimmerman family member said. \u201cHe didn\u2019t have an issue with the profile name.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked about the significance of the letters \u201ctb\u201d at the end of the username, the family member insisted that they did not stand for Trayvon Benjamin, his shooting victim\u2019s first and middle names.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey called him \u2018Tugboat\u2019 because he was so big,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Initially, the family member denied that Zimmerman was responsible for the MySpace page, saying \u201cGeorge doesn\u2019t use MySpace,\u201d and reinforced that claim during a subsequent phone call.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAll I can tell you is that it didn\u2019t come from him. He doesn\u2019t have a MySpace account. He never has. Anything personal online like that was shut down already \u2026 I just talked to George. It\u2019s not him.\u201d<\/span>
\n At that point, the source seemed concerned that someone had hacked into Zimmerman\u2019s email account to gain access to personal photos and other inside information about the case.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s been trying to get personal photos together,\u201d the family member said. \u201cI emailed him a bunch of photos. I sent it to him on that \u2026 account. I\u2019m worried sick. It only exists between me and him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOh, God. I\u2019d better call you back. \u2026 He has lots of personal stuff on there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But in a third phone call, the same family source changed course.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI talked out of school a little bit,\u201d he conceded. \u201cThat was actually an old MySpace page of his.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The page was active everyday between April 6-11, 2012.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
