El racismo al descubierto en una demanda por discriminaci\u00f3n.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Teniendo en cuenta su comportamiento y t\u00e1cticas durante los \u00faltimos 20 a\u00f1os, esto no resulta demasiado sorprendente, pero se ha revelado que los agentes del Departamento de Polic\u00eda de Nueva York (NYPD) reciben formaci\u00f3n e instrucciones para "tratar a las personas negras como animales".\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

Esta revelaci\u00f3n se produce en medio de una demanda federal por discriminaci\u00f3n presentada por la detective Debra Lawson, quien alega que los miembros de grupos minoritarios en su unidad fueron discriminados a la hora de asignar buenos puestos y ascender en su carrera profesional.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tres oficiales, uno de ellos un detective retirado de alto rango, de la unidad de represi\u00f3n de armas de fuego testificaron que el capit\u00e1n James Coan y el teniente Daniel Davin "crearon un ambiente hostil tanto para sus detectives negros como para los presuntos traficantes de armas pertenecientes a minor\u00edas".\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan indican las declaraciones, Davin utilizaba la palabra "negro" para referirse a los sospechosos de raza negra, mientras que Coan consideraba a los objetivos de la unidad pertenecientes a grupos minoritarios como casi infrahumanos.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

El ex polic\u00eda, identificado \u00fanicamente como Agente Encubierto 7988, dijo que el discurso racista de Coan precedi\u00f3 a cada orden de registro ejecutada en Brownsville, Bedford-Stuyvesant y East New York, en Brooklyn, entre 2008 y 2010.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLes daba igual si hab\u00eda ni\u00f1os dentro, les daba igual si hab\u00eda mujeres, mujeres desnudas\u201d, dijo el detective. \u201c\u2026 Las trataban como si no tuvieran ning\u00fan derecho. Fue repugnante\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Otro agente que testific\u00f3 afirma que en 2005 entr\u00f3 en un apartamento donde escuch\u00f3 a Davin decirles a los agentes: "Si tienen que dispararle a un..., hagan lo que tengan que hacer".\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n
