No U.S. or [South Korean] forces have parachuted into North Korea.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Today, The Diplomat, which has since removed the article from its site,<\/span> <span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/the-diplomat.com\/flashpoints-blog\/2012\/05\/29\/clarification-on-north-korea\/\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">issued a clarification<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color:#000000;\">of the original report:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">\u2018In response to the controversy that has attended yesterday&#8217;s story on North Korea, The Diplomat has sought corroboration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">\u2018While the author strongly disputes the contention that any quote was fabricated, we acknowledge the possibility that Brig Gen Tolley was speaking hypothetically, about future war plans rather than current operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/afp\/article\/ALeqM5hZo7GHPoUix1QJZ9IFPk2hnfWkmg?docId=CNG.4913ea87c12ab5500991625d466540b5.7c1\"><span style=\"color:#0000ff;\">AFP reported<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color:#000000;\">that the writer of the piece, David Axe, stood by the story, telling the agency that if the general was speaking hypothetically, &#8216;he did not say so.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Mr Axe added that Gen Tolley &#8216;spoke in the present tense&#8217; and &#8216;at length.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">For observers of North Korea, little has changed since the death of longtime rule Kim Jong Il in December, and his son Kim Jong Un\u2019s rise to power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">&#8216;None,&#8217;
