Last week the IRS decided to award<\/span>\u00a0Bradley Birkenfeld<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0his $104 million dollar share for helping bust<\/span>\u00a0UBS<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0bank. Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) and his staff were instrumental. Senator Grassley vowed to delay pending Department of Treasury nominations if the<\/span>\u00a0IRS Whistleblower Program<\/span><\/a><\/span>, he wrote the legislation in 2006, continued to be mismanaged.<\/span><\/p>\n

This powerful voice from Iowa has been a beacon in the storm during an Obama Administration that has<\/span>\u00a0targeted whistleblowers<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0y<\/span>\u00a0prevented accountability<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0as never before.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0The Pentagon<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0is also under Senator Grassley\u2019s fire for failing to examine 1,700 of the 5,200 reports of employees doing child porn.\u00a0 The Pentagon claimed it \u201cwasn\u2019t a priority.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Senator Grassley<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0and his staff have made it one. The closed investigation into wide-spread use of child porn at the Pentagon is now re-opened.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a national crisis of<\/span>\u00a0federal employees engaged in the child porn industry<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0and a related epidemic at the state level.\u00a0 I\u2019ve documented two states,<\/span>Vermont and Maine<\/span><\/a><\/span>, that appear to be running state protected child trafficking rings with evidence of cops, judges, lawyers, clergy and government employees covering for each other. This kind of racketeering creates powerful, and extremely profitable, pedophile rings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Money drives the crime. It is estimated that a criminal willing to molest a child in front of a live webcam can earn<\/span>\u00a0$1,000 a night<\/span><\/a><\/span>. In<\/span>\u00a0Kittery Maine<\/span><\/a><\/span>, at the \u201cDanish<\/span>\u00a0Health<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0Club,\u201d one bust yielded $6.1 million in \u201cdoor fees\u201d over a five year period with \u201cprostitutes\u201d earning $12 million. Pimps\u2019 earnings were not reported. The \u201cdoor man\u201d was a retired police officer whose wife worked in back. This bust happened because of one hard-working IRS agent, Rod Giguere.<\/span><\/p>\n

An estimated<\/span>\u00a0$1.4 billion<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0has been collected by the IRS\u2019s Whistleblower program since 2006; $464 million collected in 2010 but<\/span>\u00a0only $48 million in 2011<\/span><\/a><\/span>. Half of all global<\/span>\u00a0child porn<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0is produced in America.\u00a0 Ten<\/span>\u00a0new images of children<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0are posted daily.\u00a0 Estimates of the global profits from child porn<\/span>\u00a0range from $3-20 billion<\/span><\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 Imagine what the IRS Whistleblower program could collect if they focused on child trafficking as Agent Rod Giguere did in Maine.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Department of Justice (DOJ)\u2019s Child Exploitation and Obscenities unit has been, by many accounts, totally disabled under US Attorney General Eric Holder. Mr. Holder even refused to prosecute his own<\/span>\u00a0Assistant United States Attorney caught doing child porn<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0on DOJ computers. The IRS wants 4,000 new agents and a $300 million budget to enforce<\/span>\u00a0ObamaCare<\/span><\/a><\/span>. Instead, these resources should be allocated, entirely, for an IRS Child Exploitation & Trafficking Unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

With so many police, judges, clergy, state and federal employees across America involved in the child porn industry Americans should be able to turn to the IRS\u2019s Whistleblower program. Richard Weber, Chief of\u00a0<\/span>IRS\u2019s Criminal Division<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0Washington<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0DC, is one point of contact. Apparently, the IRS cares about trafficked children. That\u2019s good news because America\u2019s Attorney General, Eric Holder, does not.<\/span><\/p>\n

Child trafficking and porn are the fastest growing crimes in America<\/span><\/a><\/span>. With billions being laundered in black money it makes solid economic sense for the IRS to focus on the child porn industry.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0Eric Holder\u2019s Department of Justice<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0has demonstrated they have no interest in<\/span>\u00a0prosecuting pedophiles<\/span><\/a><\/span>, not even their own. The IRS should be given substantial resources to compensate for DOJ\u2019s disgraceful failure. American tax-payers, not to mention America\u2019s children, will reap huge rewards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps Senator Grassley will raise his powerful voice in support.<\/span><\/p>\n
