The American Party of Labor condemns the continued campaign of aggression waged by the Trump Administration against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The recent bombing of Venezuelan civilian fishing boats by U.S. naval forces, the imposition of inhumane economic sanctions, and the baseless accusations that Venezuela has become a center for fentanyl production constitute a grave escalation in Washington\u2019s war on the Venezuelan people. These actions, carried out under the false banner of \u201cnational security\u201d and \u201cthe fight against drugs,\u201d reveal once again the naked imperialist ambitions of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trump Administration\u2019s policy has never been about democracy or human rights. It is a campaign of economic and military coercion intended to overthrow the legitimate government of President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro and to restore US domination over Venezuela\u2019s oil, natural resources, and political future. The bombing of civilian fishing vessels\u2014ordinary workers seeking to feed their families\u2014exposes the barbaric character of this campaign. It is an act of state terrorism, meant to instill fear among the Venezuelan people and to demonstrate that the United States will stop at nothing to impose its will on a sovereign nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally outrageous are the recent false claims made by the Trump Administration accusing Venezuela of serving as a hub for fentanyl production and trafficking. These fabrications, unsupported by any credible evidence, and the recent invention of the word \u201cnarcoterrorist\u201d are intended to justify further sanctions and military encirclement under the guise of a \u201ccounter-narcotics\u201d operation. In reality, they are part of the same well-worn script used by the United States to rationalize aggression, from the \u201cweapons of mass destruction\u201d lies used to invade Iraq to the \u201chumanitarian intervention\u201d pretexts used around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The much lauded \u201cprinciples\u201d of the United States are, and always have been, nothing more than a mask for imperialist greed. The bombing of civilian fishing boats and the slanderous accusations of fentanyl production are the acts of a decaying empire lashing out at a people determined to chart their own course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Party of Labor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Condemns in the strongest terms the acts of aggression, including the bombing of civilian fishing boats and the imposition of murderous sanctions, carried out by the Trump Administration against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Denounces the false and inflammatory accusations regarding fentanyl production as imperialist propaganda designed to justify war and subversion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Affirms its unwavering solidarity with the Venezuelan working class and the Bolivarian Revolution in their struggle for sovereignty, independence, and socialism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hands off Venezuela!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

End the sanctions and military provocations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
